Let's put a little calmness in!

There are different kinds of website;

1. Small static ones (built using whatever takes your fancy - and the newer Frontpage versions *are* better than the old ones). WS sites fall into this category.

2. The large static sites - Dreamweaver is good for those because with templates you get consistency. You may have used WS to help design them and for building the navbars etc.

3. Published sites - like some of the ones JR does - managed in a database and with the html generated once off - or at regular intervals.

4. Dynamic sites eg using php/mysql in which pages are built on-the-fly when requested. This wd include a Content Management System site like Nigel is talking about. Let's face it, UBB (this bulletin board) is a sort of CMS.

5. Perm any combination!

All these approaches are good for the right sites. My Bricks & Brass site uses 2, 3 and 4 for different areas. It is sometimes hard to keep my head around it, so testing needs care.

As with Nigel's plan, I have to keep a careful watch on paths and folders to make sure everything hangs together.
