Hi folks, long time without having a chance to do something for the pleasure of it Here, a katana sword styled in Musamane's fashion. Musamane was one of the most famous swords maker in ancient japan. Of course, I did it all with Xara X1 only, no other external application.

    Cheers,

    Aram

Wow! I especially love the texture on the handle and the sheath--those two parts look especially photo-realistic.

JohnR, it took me around 4 hours to make it. I first created a layer with line as guides for the perspective, the started with the blade, guard and handle, then the scabbard. Finally I added something I call "color control layers" just siluette black objects with transparency and feather stuff... and at last, background.
