The process is very simple.
In Xara:
Utilities > Options > Photo Editing > Editing Bitmaps, set program to "C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\Photo.exe" or...

behzad, a long-winded approach is required as Xara outputs images as BMPs, which Affinity can support but does not Export.
Double-click in Xara in Photo Tool to open "optimised" image in Affinity...
