  1. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

Nice one. But For average joe blow as a client that only makes things more complicated.
  2. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

Your viewing in RGB, even in acrobat your still viewing it in RGB, because all monitors are designed that way. Color correction is something that after all these years is a hit and miss situation...

    Re: Page rendering and calculations

Yes, it was a shocker. But I learned now to work on a page by itself and once finished copy and paste into the larger site.

    Re: Page rendering and calculations

Installed memory 8G and the pages render 3 minutes faster than previously.
  5. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

Every printer prints rich black with different values, it is best one asks the printer what the values are. Yes Acrobat pro is good for checking colors.
  6. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

See file attached, make sure you set your colors to simulate print colors. It is in the file. Use a pantone process color imaging guide.
  7. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

No, your incorrect in that assumption. I have done many pantone work for clients. Just grab yourself a CMYK/Pantone book and punch in the numbers into Xara.

    Re: Page rendering and calculations

Thanks Egg. I am now doing one page at a time and once finished and approved copying everything on that page and pasting it to the main file. The layers will no work nor the fast publishing. Xara...

    Re: Page rendering and calculations

Thanks, Acorn did that, not sure if it really helps. Do you know this for a fact?
  10. Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?

This is a great feature to have, specially when setting resolution.

Also the same goes for Web Properties >Image>Web image type
  11. Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?

I want xara not calculate all pages on my site when rendering. I want it to just render to a browser only the page I am working on. By rendering I do not mean uploading to a hosting site, just...

    Re: Page rendering and calculations

Thank you Boy, tried both, they are still slow, problem being low memory on laptop and large pages. I am waiting to add 8G to my system and will try soon. Meanwhile I am doing pages on their own and...

    Page rendering and calculations

How can I block some pages from being calculated by xara for output to the web. I just want to work on the one page I have and not have to wait minutes for all the pages to be converted for export.
  15. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

Unless your working to produce design for large firms that can dish out money to get their pantone matched across multiple items, your better off just relaxing about color matching to the T and get...
  16. Re: Pantone, CMYK, RGB and Hex differences in Xara Designer Pro X

What your customer sees on their monitor is different from what you and I see on ours. So the only way to have a perfect match is to get the pantone numbers and assign them again in xara to those...

Re: Any of these laptops good?

Paul thank you for all your help. I've looked into the 8G memory card and it is only $40 so I will give that a try. This one project I am working on for a client has very long content on each page.

Re: Any of these laptops good?

I am baffled. Here is the screen shot of stats as the file is being processed in xara (screen freezes). As you can see the power consumption is high and not the cpu usage. This is on the HP stats...

Re: Any of these laptops good?

Perfect Paul, thank you for the info. I think I will upgrade the memory to 8G since it is cheap for the HP and work with that for a while. Since I am not doing any major photoshop or 3d work.

Re: Any of these laptops good?

Win 10, 64 bit. I get 2G free out of 4G for Xara. @paul I do not understand your assumption? I ask this because the way Xara works, I read somewhere it does not even use multi processing. Never...
