    Re: Adobe vs Alternatives

Adobes annual report reports they are on track for their goals with cc subscriptions. I do wonder though how many of them will stay after their 1 year price jumps up.

    Re: Adobe vs Alternatives

Yes single vender dependency is a potential danger. Unfortunately as a 10 year adobe use it is all I know as macromedia was taken by adobe early in my studies. The main reason I want a single vender...
  8. Re: FACT: Xara has a crippled, out-of-date type-engine.

    Re: Adobe vs Alternatives

That is all good info. Xara is still a contender to adobe for sure. They are on my top 3 list because they can port AI/PSD which goes a long way in my book. I need to try their trials. I like their...

I might add Serif Pages Plus to that list of text heavy contenders. It is very similar feel to Indesign but probably like cs3-4 with a face lift. CorelDraw is a vector program that in there current...
  12. Re: FACT: Xara has a crippled, out-of-date type-engine.

Agreed. For graphic design your most important tools are fonts. If you dont have fonts you dont have anything. A mark of a great graphic designer is how they handle type. For that they need advanced...
