Hi Egg! Good to see a face I recognize.
Wow Wizard, I guess I'm way behind. My last copy was Xara 2013. Logged into Magix and found all the information and serial number.
I have many photographs from the EAA air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They are from 8 or 10 years ago. If anyone needs reference material for planes I'd be happy to share.128511128512128513128514

Thanks Wizard509! I found my version...it's Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 7. What's the newest version now?
I've been gone a long time but every time I see one of my XX artworks I think about this forum. To be honest, I do not remember how to use Xara Xtreme and don't even know what the current version is...
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas cards! Xara users are so creative :)
Good suggestions handrwn. I didn't think about those settings. It's possible that I changed something by mistake as I'm sure that I used to not have issues with bitmap copies.
Thanks Ben. I was getting the pixelation when converting my finished vectors with the bitmap tool. I will investigate again.
I just finished watching Angelize's two tutorials on using Xara and...
Watched Gary's video on creating seamless tiles but it raised a couple of questions. He does not mention snapping to a grid so that his tile will be whole pixels. It's all and good to make the...
Hi everybody, hi Larry!! Thanks for all the responses.
I'm blushing because I forgot that XX uses 96dpi. When I setup the default workspace in XX I made it using 300dpi x 8.5 in and 11 in as my...
Magic snapping. I already like the sound of that, lol. So nice to see you again Angelize and thank you for the links. I intend to follow them all and see if I can't educate myself.
I'm taking...
Hi Gary, yes it has been awhile.
A couple of years ago I started using XX to create scrapbooking item. I moved away from that and now make 3D models and do some texture work. It takes so much of...
One of the functions I never conquered in Xara was using guides, snapping and setting up the parameters for them. I export almost exclusively as PNG and most of my images have a semi-transparent...
Oh my, I feel terrible to find out that such a lovely person has left us. Bill has always been one of the most helpful and supportive people in the community and never got tired of my stupid...
Oh Bill, that is excellent! I originally tried 32 color thinking that it was 32 thousand color. When that didn't work I went to the 256 color because I thought that's what was in a previous...
Thanks for the answers, will give it a try....will look for true color. Scotty, for higher settings, do you mean in XX or X3d? Sorry for being dense but it's been a long time since I've used either...

Hello boys :)
I use PaintShopPro for alot of my raster work and was using that.
Your comments suggest that I can open them in XaraX so I did that just now. All attempts come in as transparent...
Sorry, I'm back. Nope, it doesn't work even when I select 'transparent'.
Here's a screen pic. I used the above settings...ok, wrong pic but I did it with the above settings. When I load the...
Oh for Heaven's sake. I figured it out....pffft. Thanks anyway.
Thanks for the info on exporting pngs Rik. I'll try it that way too.
Hi, been a while.
I have Xara3D version 6. When I try to export my text as a PNG it is not transparent and I can't find any controls for selecting transparent. I watched a few tutorials but they...
Happy Holidays to one and all!!!
Thanks for the added info.
:) Nancy
Hi, 3"x300dpi is 900 pixels. If you intend to print at 300 dpi, just multiply your needed inches by 300dpi. If you need to print at 600dpi, then multiply your needed inch size by 600.
If I'm...
