    @handrawn - they serve no purpose at all, I didn't even know they were there, and must been created while I was trying to diagnose the issue.

    That's interesting, I tried your example and didn't get any additional border.

    Then I set the Line Color of your square to black, and re-exported as EMF, and that triggered the extra padding issue.

    Ive found that exporting even the simplest page to EMF/WMF adds a strange variable amount of padding to the resulting image (depending on contents of the page), but exporting to pdf works as expected...
