In some cases that may be true but in a storm I'd rather my house was bolted together rather than nailed..

My thoughts exactly .. For text and simple animations it's quick and easy... but no where close to flash capabilities. It's limited .. even your choice of animation is limited.

I have a tutorial. Just modify it by contracting by 1 pixel and you will have your outline.

Paintshop Pro 6 was no match for Photoshop. But with the release of PSP7 I can say with confidence that it can do anything and everything Photoshop 6 can dish out for $500 bucks less the price.

I would have to disagree on that .. With out the flash core basics even reading source files can make you dizzy. And most tutorials assume that you already know the basics ie; tweening, buttons,...

As I advised in the other thread The Flash Bible is great reading and equally good learning .. Picked it up 6 months ago and within two weeks I had my first flash site ..

Trust me you can't learn...
