  1. Re: Tasty little bit of computer generated animation.

Great links - thanks for posting them! Impressive work.

As for the processing power they use a lot. People have 35 core CPU cards and may even use render farms.

Re: Incorporatring PHP into Xara website

I don't agree with this assessment as bullying at all. They specifically told you that you would incur extra charges if the current PHP level was not changed.

I don't understand why you would see...

Re: Incorporatring PHP into Xara website

What fasthosts are saying is (in essence)..

Your web hosting includes PHP. It includes PHP whether you use it or not. We will not check if you use it, we don't care if you use it but it is there...

Re: Incorporatring PHP into Xara website

You don't need to use PHP with Xara.

You DO need to change your PHP version even if you don't use it otherwise you will be charged.

Re: Incorporatring PHP into Xara website

You are completely misunderstanding the communication.

They will only charge you if you remain with the outdated version of PHP currently enabled on your webhost. If you change the version of PHP...

    Re: How many cores

I think there's some problems with the analysis in this thread.

For a program to be able to utilise multiple cores it must be written to utilise multiple concurrent threads of execution that can...

Re: One seriously cool bit of design

There is a spectrum for design.

The bike has a pleasing form and perfectly performs the function of a bike.

There are many ways for form to follow function and the design of this bike does not...

Re: One seriously cool bit of design

It's interesting the resistance to this design because I was, and am, seriously impressed by it - mostly because of the aesthetics rather than anything else.

In terms of it being uncomfortable, as...

I just feel that it sounds like over-promising a level of support and development that doesn't seem to exist given the posts on TG.

    Good times ahead!

I just got some marketing from Xara.

I don't quite recognise in the forums what it says, but it seems to me that it may be time to crack out the champagne..

    With 10+ feature and content...

It was the beginning of the end when Xara developed theirs.

Re: How do I email a Xara presentation/website

I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying it's a clumsy solution. Ever had an iPad owner discussing folders? Probably the same on Android devices. We should never assume out target audience...

Re: How do I email a Xara presentation/website

With a powerpoint file I just click to run it. That's not the case for a zip file.

I would NEVER supply a presentation to a client in this manner, or any audience.
