    Re: Lines to Shapes

Indeedy. Just tried it and found out that little tidbit. I didn't realize the convert to editable shape only worked on preexisting shapes.

Been using this package since 1997 and I'm still learning...

    Re: Lines to Shapes

OK, I see what I did wrong. The convert to editable shape doesn't take into account the properties of a line. Convert line to shape, being specific to lines does.

    That did it! Thanx!

    Re: Lines to Shapes

I did, but I made it into an editable shape, not just a standard shape.

    Thanx for your reply!

    Re: Lines to Shapes

That's a thought that didn't occur to me. Cool, I'll give that a try, too.

    Thanx!

    Re: Lines to Shapes

I used the convert to editable shape. The info bar at the lower left then identified the object as a shape, but the subtract only removed the simple line object.

I'll give it a try converting just...

    Lines to Shapes

    Afternoon, all -

I'm making a map from a hand-drawn image. To ensure the roads are a uniform width, I am using a line tool set to 16pt. I draw the lines down the center of each road and a uniform...

Re: A tool to identify the RGB of a selected color

I do. There are a lot of times when the clean. pixel by pixel format of IC is very useful. I didn't know it would load from a thumb drive. That's good to know.

    Thanx!

Re: A tool to identify the RGB of a selected color

Thank you for the replies, guys! Those are a big help. I've had Xara for years, and always thought the eyedropper would only change the color of an object.

A tool to identify the RGB of a selected color

    Good afternoon.

I have a very old tool, Microsoft's Image Composer, that I still use as a supplement to Xara. Unfortunately, I've been moved to a new computer at work, one without a CD drive, so I...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

I'll have to give that a look. Something we have at our new location that I hadn't noticed is the addition of the Microsoft Snipping Tool. I tried this, but it's not much better than just using...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

Perhaps. I wish they'd've answered one of my queries about it, so that I could have quit using 365 and used 15.

But, no matter now. It works and that's all that matters.

    Thanx!

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

    Hmm. I'll look at that.

OK, I had never paid attention to that button before. Well, that sets the handles the way I expect, However, I wonder why Xara told me it's a problem that they were aware...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

Thanx, Jonopen. That's pretty much what I've done, except I have Import at dpi specified in the image file, rather than Resize large imported photos down to X pixels in Options/View, to avoid having...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

Yup, 15.1. Version 15.1.0.53605, in fact.

I just tried deselecting Smart Transform and the same thing happens.

If I click on a bitmap image, say a PNG, it has the look of having been selected...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

I tried the same procedure in DesignerPro 15, and it provides a crisp image. But, 15 still has that unresolved bug concerning resizing bitmaps which is a major inconvenience for me.

    Although, that...

    Re: Resolution of Exported Images

No, I just used Alt-Print Scn and then pasted into Xara. The fuzzy screenshot is 96dpi. But, it's not fuzzy in Xara; there is no difference, in Xara, between a new screenshot and one from last week....

    Resolution of Exported Images

    Greetings, all -

I've been using Xara since 1997 when it was a part of the Corel Graphics Pack. Great program! I'm now on 15, though, because of a bug, I've reverted back to 365 until the bug is...
