I have just confirmed that dp4 font viewer as mentioned above works with Windows 7 34bit and 64bit AND makes the font temporarily available to PSP (and all other programs)

Symbolic link or not, the font is 'installed' and written to the windows registry regardless of it's physical location.
Using a shortcut to a font...

You can install a font in W7 by right-click >> Install
