  1. The mobile version's background moves, but i don't want it to.

This happens on IOS. I'm told that Safari doesn't support fixed backgrounds.

Is there a workaround? Setting an actual picture as sticky moves it above the content.

Is there a way to make it...

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

    I've used those before.

But you have some like a little circle that fades in and out, and manages to play until your page is done loading, then it goes away. this seems a bit more complex than...

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

    New problem,

On Android, the mobile site's background is fixed, (the way I want it) but on iPhone's "Safari", it scrolls.

    Uh oh...
  4. Re: Imagine a gallery of editable loading animations . . .

Well, it would be nice to at least have the ability to make one.

I've seen them on people's Xara sites before, but I have no idea how they've managed to get it on there.

    It's not in the manual...

Cliff, how did you add those loading animations I've seen on some of your pages?

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

I see. Not sure how to change where it looks for the pictures. I'm using the "Xara Slider" so I doubt it will give me that option.

Maybe I just need to change this bit of code?

  7. Imagine a gallery of editable loading animations . . .

Have you ever been to a website that has one of these things pop-up?

    125131

This animation helps you to distract the viewer from the fact that your site takes a bit longer to load.

    Maybe you...

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

Not sure what you meant by this, so I'm not sure how to implement it.

However, I was able to replace the PNGs' with the original JPEGs' which I compressed. This boosted the quality of the photos...

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

Thanks a lot Cliff! I have quite enjoyed seeing your work in the past and this is no exception. Pretty intense that you put this together in an hour or so! I've been doing mine for four days haha.

Thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragement!

The site now is starting to look a lot better.

  12. Can I make this object stick to the edge of the browser window somehow?

I want to use an intricate design(not necessarily the flourish seen in the video) to spice up the background, but don't know how to make it fit the browser without cutting a whole bunch off.

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

    Thanks everyone.

I've heard a review that was pretty eye-opening.

I have a lot of work to do, and almost feel the need to start from scratch.

    Discouraging.

Re: My site takes a long time to load . . .

    Haha. Good catch Gary.

Yea I think youre right about it being too big. I like the spacing though, so I'll just scale it down.

I use the same hoster on a different website, and as far as I know,...

My site takes a long time to load . . .

    Hey there!

So, I have created a website for our construction business.

I just recently got the home page done, uploaded it, cleared my cache and found that it takes a long time to load.

    For...
  16. Re: Loading screen animations: how are they applied once created?

Hmm, well, i may not be understanding you correctly.

I just see what happens in the video I posted.
  17. Re: Loading screen animations: how are they applied once created?

Update: The CSS drags and drops into Xara just fine.

    The animation works when previewing.

Now I just need to know how to make it and a background picture that will be behind it, disappear when...
  18. Re: Loading screen animations: how are they applied once created?

I have the animation in gif and css format, I just don't know how to apply it to the website.

Ahh, my skillset continues to find new paths of potential growth!! HTML Animations . . .
  20. Re: Loading screen animations: how are they applied once created?

Does it NEED to be a supersite?

Also, it seems that in the site I used as an example, the animation plays, and then it disappears and everything is loaded, I didn't have to click anything.

This is a forum about a program that, among many things, designs websites after all.
