I'm not running any shell extensions, no security software of any kind (no anti-virus, no anti-spam, etc)...

And you've DEFINITELY switched on DEP for all programs?

If so, then I'm stumped!! The crash is totally repeatable on my machine, and toggles with complete reliability just by switching DEP on and...

One last thing to add: the crash seems to occur at the moment the pop-up window advertising "New: Template Pack 1" appears, which is immediately after the main window has loaded.

Remember, by default it is only on for Windows itself, not for the applications. I've switched it on for all applications....

You are right - you can emulate some of the functionality of a master page in Web Designer, although it isn't really as clean as the "genuine" master pages provided...

Is the Xara team intending to introduce the concept of master pages to Web Designer any time soon?

It is very useful to have one master page on which all the common stuff (headers, navbars, etc)...

I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm weaning myself off Serif WebPlus X2 and on to XWD, but there is something that I really miss.

I think XWD really needs the concept of a "page relationships...

I was quite disappointed to see the enormous loss of functionality between WebStyle and XWD when it comes to navbars.

PLEASE: bring back the super-slick navbar builder (or something very similar).

I realise you can add forms to your page using placeholders and pasted HTML, but honestly it's a shame to have to do that.

I really hope Xara will add a proper forms designer into XWD itself.

I'm trying to move away from Serif WebPlus X2, because although it has excellent functionality the user interface is a real mess...

But I've tried to use Xtreme to make buttons and a navigation bar, and it's hopeless compared with WebStyle.

I agree that WebStyle is very over-priced. On the other hand, I find the workflow - from choosing the initial design, through inserting the text, tweaking the colours, and then using the superb...

I own licenses for 3D6, Xtreme 4 and WebStyle 4. I think they are all superb, except that WebStyle needs polishing up along the lines I've mentioned.

I really hope Xara turn their attention to it...

Just for the record, unlike Nuncio I'm not advocating free upgrades.

I'd happily pay for an upgrade to WebStyle, if it had the features I've outlined.
