OK. I opened a backup and the Guides layer is still there.
Saved and copied and pasted my palette of named colors, and voila! Now all named colors in my palette are there.

XaReg 2.5 does not work (for guidelines) with Pro+
And that worked well. I created a new named color: New Guideline Color, and now my entire Guides layer is gone. I closed and reopened and it's...

I tried it. All I am offered as I stated above is red.
