In my opinion the best tutorial on creating a fire effect is by Su Lawrence: http://www.xaraxone.com/guest/guest16/index.htm
As for creating animations using a Xara application an oldie but goodie...
Stephen can you post an image so we can see what you are talking about?
Drawing fire so it looks like fire is not an easy task, and trying to animate it is more difficult.
Drawing a stick figure and animating it to walk is a much easier task in my opinion.
You can post a request for Next & Previous Frame shortcuts in the Dear Xara forum : http://www.talkgraphics.com/forumdisplay.php?56-Dear-Xara
I checked the Customize Key Shortcuts feature but it does not offer anything for Next or Previous Frame.
I use the Frame Gallery and simply click the frame I'm interested in.
Hello Pegbert, welcome to TalkGraphics.
When you are working with animations there is a new infobar added at the interface that has Select Next and Select Previous Frame buttons.

Use Shift+Enter for a new line, Enter by itself in Version 7 is new page.
Please post an example image. I'm not sure what you are referring to as the 'curve function'.
Thanks Frances. I was a member of the U.S. Air Force during the 1970s, 1980s, and part of the 1990s.
I started with Xara's public beta of Xara X then bought the release version when that became available. That was after they resolved their marketing agreement with Corel. I have upgraded to each...
I cheat. I have headphones plugged in and don't put them on unless I specifically want to hear something.
Thanks for the link Gary. He is a very talented artist, I recognise many of his works being the cover art for many books I have read over the years.
Very moody image Derek. Glad I didn't attend school there.
I'm ready to go with tree ornaments, cards, decorations, or what ever the majority decides upon.
Bronto the image of mine you say looks as you would like is very simple. It consists of only four shapes.
As far as I know none of Xara's applications have SFTP capability.
As Gary mentioned not all web hosts support that protocol and may charge extra for it.
Welcome to TalkGraphics.
Can you show us some of your efforts? That will help give us a guide line as to how you think a steel ball bearing might look.
Here is a link to Apple's documentation for creating icons and images for iOS. It provides the pixel sizes for each device and what the operating system will automatically add to the icon/image....
Hi George, Welcome to TalkGraphics.
I'm not aware of a registry entry that will expand the Page and Layer gallery when the program starts.
If you are asking about a scripting feature, there is none.
Jim, the transparency my also cause the effect but until you try it we won't know. Also your vector shape may not need transparecy, only feathering.
Jim the old fashioned way is to use a copy of your text or shape rather than the Shadow Tool. Give the text/shape an appropriate color some transparency/feathering so it looks like a shadow. Also...
Your .xar file is your project source, you must export your working animation as a .gif, flash (.swf) or .avi file format for it to be acceptable by YouTube.
