I've logged this as a critical bug to be fixed in the upcoming patch. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Patch should be released now. If you go to Help > Check for updates, update to 16.1.1 and try adding a link to a table now it should work.

If it has been fixed it would be done so in internal developer builds, which are tested first before the changes are compiled into a patch that is released. I don't know whether it will make it into...

I'll chase the developers on this issue, It is assigned to the a developer but can't say whether it is fixed or not yet.
