- import a picture;
- rotate it by 90°;
- use it as an art brush;
- then what happens?

@gwpriester, man, this answer of yours makes me wonder how many of these 'hidden' features are buried inside the user interface.
I'm pretty sure this specific popup is not mentioned in the user...
Also, using Xara interface nowadays feels like being Cypher watching Matrix world through the console... I mean... it's so old style!
Quoted for agreement!
On English Windows 8.1 64 bit this issue is present.
Did anyone try to use masking plugins like Fluid Mask inside Xara Designer Pro?
I'm looking for a way to produce easily complex selections, like hairs.
Thanks for any advice!
Just wanted to chime in and cheer Egg for his interesting brush. Cool stuff!
Excellent result, with both the compositing and the colour retouch!
Guyke, did you try rendering this scene in Blender Cycles. I bet you'd see a good improvement with very low effort.
Cycles did make the difference on how much I enjoy using Blender in the last...
Man, I'm quite impressed by this offer!
Too bad I'm confident with Blender 3D today and wouldn't like restart learning three packages instead of one.
For anyone starting from scratch is a good deal...
Again, thanks for your answer.
I used PhotoLine back a couple of years and found it a very interesting piece of software. Extremely tight and fast, while a bit out of standards in terms of UI.

Thanks for your answer Mike.
Yes I had a look over at Serif forums and found some interesting thoughts; what I'm interested most are speed improvements and "pixel-perfect" alignment of the drawings....
Hi all,
I just received a pre-sale offer for the brand new release.
As I told last year - after purchasing X4 - I won't be buying it without first trial, so... anyone tried it by chance? How did...

Ditto. I work more and more with Inkscape, which is really improving vector tools with each release.
To me those semi-raster half-baked tools added in the latest releases just don't cut, because...
Kind of driving off-road here, but in a difficult case like this I would make the sphere and the tube in real 3D with Blender, and thereafter would paint over missing details if any.
Xara is...
After a few hours spent with this software I'm not completely happy.
Just asked the refund (by placing a mandatory international call :( ) .
I will never ever purchase a software without trial....
Albacore, probably Serif is more commercially aggressive because of your country; in about two years I just received one mail every months or two, and never a phone call.
Today I discovered a...
I hear you Derek, the lack of trial was a big stopper for me, too.
This is why I started Serif route with their "SE" product line, a "lite" version of the mainstream software, much cheaper and yet...
Just received the upgrade offer and bought straight away: at circa €44 it was a bargain.
Real brushes, pressure aware, blending modes, new colour picker, etc. etc.
I'm happy! :D
Often many little things make a big difference at the end of the day.
Actually appereance panel and brushes sold me to Illustrator: the time saved with those tools make Illustrator as fast as Xara...
I'd like to choose if the stroke should be inside, in the middle or outside the path.
It could seem silly but would make some precision work much easier (expecially on interface design where actual...
