That's the way it seems - I only specifically named the backgrounds, in order to make Dynamic Page work on all the pages (a tedious workaround, I know, but it did the job).
Oh disaster! I migrated a large site from WD6 to WD 7 Premium - all pages used the Dynamic Page tweak, which involved a complex naming exercise of the backgrounds, I recall, and an edit to the...
Thanks, Sledger! That's so simple, and I have been knocking my brains out using Premailer and stripping out all unwanted content. However, every other solution seems to mess up text panels (they look...
Very many thanks for such rapid response. I think I can get my client to cope with one dynamic column and another (or more) that must be no longer. In the longer term it would be really helpful to...
One more please John, re Dynamic Page. Can I get a background texture image in place of the background panel, please, and is there any control on tiling?
Thanks again.
Really useful - again, thanks John.
Question: in Dynamic Page, can I have two Dynamic Place Holders, side by side to create two columns that could be of unequal length? I have tried giving each...
I have managed it, a page at a time by just clicking 'OK' to the error message. Perhaps this will help someone else with a similar problem.
Other (more complex) .web files seem to open OK but the one I have just started (and wanted to complete using WD6) will not. I have tried dragging the contents of a page from WD5 to WD6 but get the...
Just bought it BUT... WD6 will not open a .web file created in WD5. To be fair, the site opens and I can see rectangles for all the pages and the Properties box shows that they have the correct names...
I have had the same problem. I was unable to get a resolution here, so I just resigned myself to the fact that the home page would be index.htm and that the site assets would be in index_htm_files...
I'd vote for this.
A useful thought BUT only really useful for larger sites if the page name is visible overlaid on the page 'thumbnail'.
I have sites with page content in identical-looking Placeholders for CMS, so...
I had no problems getting one Flash movie working on a page. However, when I duplicated the page, uploaded a second set of Flash files and tried to enter the new name in the 'Replace with Flash' box,...
Thanks so much Sebastian. You are quite correct. You don't happen to know why text links don't work in the Footer area of Dynamic Page do you? The show up correctly in the information bar of the...
You're right. It works using IE Tab in Firefox. But not with Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Does that give anyone a clue? It signifies nothing to me!
It gets worse! As far as I can see with ftp the site is publishing to /www/Xara/ instead of /public_html/Xara despite quite specific path instruction.
I use Dynamic Page tweak for CMS content. I moved the MouseOver layer to the top of the list (is this what you meant) and both problems persist.
OK, I did that, having deleted all the .htm files before I did it, then published and the problems persist.
Yes, it's the same site that exports index.htm instead of index.html
I deleted all the XWD uploaded files from the site and re-published and both problems persist.
I just posted the .web file in connection with problem on navigation links. I have restarted the computer and published again and the index.html has been changed to index.htm again.
Do I have a...
Yes, I changed them from text links to images to try to get round the same problem. I did not just paste the text into the buttons but re-typed it from scratch.
quality=best width=800 height=20
Yes, that's precisely what it says 'index.html' but it persists in publishing to index.htm and the equivalent file directory.
I have created nav buttons which I have copied from page to page. on http://trewgates.com/Xara/ the 'Call me back' button (left side of page) does not work but the three below it do. On...
I am having problems with a new site I am creating. The home page filename is index.html and initially the site published to index.html and the index_html_files directory but now it keeps publishing...
I'm with you, PCguy. I really miss not being able to just pick a style (h1, h2, p etc) so that in the future I can change the headline font, say, throughout the site with a simple change to the css. ...
