  1. Re: A new subscription option combining Designer Pro and Xara Cloud

If only Xara would spend as much time improving features and adding updates for their software as they do in trying to come up with ideas to get more money from us!

Re: JUST RELEASED: An update to Xara Designer Pro X

Hmm, the 'upgrades' seem to be getting smaller and smaller each year. Having had every version since the Beta of Studio, I don't think I'll rush to buy this one.

Re: Latest Update would not apply until I renewed

I still have 2 days left on my subscription but it doesn't show any update when I click 'Check for updates'. It currently lists as the March 30, 2017 update. Seemingly, it is actuall less than 9...

Re: Xara Designer Pro X update July 2017

Seems to me to be more like a maintenance release than an upgrade. Mostly nonsense stuff of little use or interest to any designer or illustrator. Top of their list... Facebook, G+ and Twitter header...

Re: Inserting points/nodes with pen (Surface Pro)

    Thanks for the reply, Phil.
A physical keyboard would probably be best.

    Great, thanks.

Re: Inserting points/nodes with pen (Surface Pro)

Thanks for the reply, Gary. It can work with a single click but it's very hit and miss, and much more miss than hit. More often than not I end up pushing the line into a curve instead of simply...

Inserting points/nodes with pen (Surface Pro)

Hi all, I just got myself a MS Surface Pro to run XD365 on. Everything is great on it so far except for adding points in the middle of a path in Node Edit mode. With a mouse it is just a click, but...

    Re: Variants off center

Mobile variants are a real mess in DP11. They work fine on desktop browsers, even when resizing the browsers to mobile size, but on an actual mobile they load off centre and elements float all over...

    Re: Quick question: PDF Resolution?

If the original bitmaps/photos are low resolution, e.g. 96dpi, saving them at 300 dpi will not increase their real resolution, hence they will still show as low resolution upon inspection.

    Re: PDF import

Thanks guys. Handrawn, run as administrator did the trick, before that RAW didn't appear in the list either.
BTW. The PDF importer has improved quite a bit. :)

    Re: PDF import

Drag and drop only produces a placeholder, and in the File-Import route there is only the PDF Placeholder option and not the PDF only option.

    PDF import

With XDP10 I can't import PDF files, instead it just shows as a placeholder, even though the document is set as a print document. Am I missing something? Any ideas much appreciated, thanks.

Re: Time table for XD 10?

Not a lot of use as there is usually much longer between releases, as is the case here, yet again.

Re: Time table for XD 10?

Same old routine, if you forked out for their most expensive product, you will have to wait at least a couple of months for the new tools or if you want them sooner you will need to buy/upgrade a...

    You're welcome.

  21. Re: What are you hoping to see in the next version of Designer Pro?

Me too, but myself and others have been asking for this for years but Xara have always been dead against it.
  22. Re: Paper type suggestion for Flyer and Business Cards

If you want the business cards to have a quality look and feel, 400gsm card with a matt laminate is hard to beat. As for the flyers, gloss is not as glossy as gloss laminated print and looks more...

    Re: Support for Roland Printers

Roland is Japanese and a free RIP comes with the printers. You can easily send graphics for printing and/or cutting from Xara to the RIP.
