You will need to uncheck Fast Publish - there will be nothing in the new "index_htm_files". Had you previously undertaken a full publish? If not, it might be as simple as doing so.
I would have thought you should be able to rename the Directory/Folder "index_htm_files" (say) "old_site", create a new directory"index_htm_files" and then republish as normal. Whether this actually...
