As Egg seems to have solved the problem himself some time ago, isn't it a deja point of view?

Re: Subfolder to Subfolder Links Issue

It's soooooooooooooooooo much simpler to create new pages/websites and link to home page or site map.
    Life is too short.
(Just my stupid, simple-minded take on a conversation which seems to be...

Re: What does the future hold for Xara?

Sorry to diss and unknowingly infringe etiquette on here.
Was unaware of previous posts about the overlay. Asked the missus to smack my legs.
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately unable to access the...

Re: What does the future hold for Xara?

    Agreed.
But every time I open Xara, my first screen tells me I haven't renewed (irritatingly unnecessary)
And then I have two more screens which include the invitation to click if I don't want to...

Re: What does the future hold for Xara?

You are correct. My dentist told me last week that they were about to shell out £55K to upgrade to WIN10 before Covid.
I hope Affinity fails because Serif left its loyal customers in the lurch when...

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

    No fun huh!
In the last few days you've casually dropped in a least a dozen sites you use to augment and help your expertise.
I feel like I did when the scales dropped from my researcher's eyes...

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

You've no idea how made-up I feel - knowing that YOU, GWP, have used this website construction (despite having other options at your fingertips which you've published).

    Wow - simply WOW!

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

Nah - more like a steel filing cabinet - or even a card box with loadsa cards or maybe cards in a ring holder.

What we really need is someone to invent a machine that 'thinks' with flashing lights...

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

    That's good news! Thanks!
The thing is I need to include hundreds of people's names and places and a search could throw up a few or dozens of references
The search would be there for someone...
  14. Re: Sorry To bother, but I have a major problem. I had a stroke.

Just wanted to add my commiseration and support.
I too have had a stroke.
    It upset my world.
I also know from a recent head scan that the arteries are not working there as well as when I was a...

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

That's a great summary of how the site works - and I don't read much critism (oh, the relief!)
The hub and spoke analogy is perfect.
My intention is to force readers to use the hub (although...

What does the future hold for Xara?

Website programs are created - some cease to be supported and gradually become outmoded.
Windows 11 is about to be thrust upon us (my dentist's practise is stuck in the time-warp that is XP)
    Where...

    Re: creating sub-folders in Xara

Despite loadsa help on here, I found sub folders hard to set up for my needs.
    My 'website' has 260+ pages.
I simply made a website for every page (ie 260+ websites) and linked to them all via one...

Re: Incorporatring PHP into Xara website

    @Acorn
    Thanks for the explanation.
What is frustrating is that I knew zilch about PHP.
Yesterday, I watched some YouTube tutorials (not the 6 hour one!) to get to grips with it and printed out...
