@Albacore: you remind my another tool that in my opinion should be considered useful. A sort of "simplify" brush to be used on lines turned in shapes: lots of times there are to many points/nodes,...
[Moderator: I've started a new thread for this subject.]
Very well done. [Refers to this thread: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?72166-3D-vectorized] What I'm suggesting, with this and...
This is an interesting feature of Illustrator: you create a 3d object and then you can transform it in small parts (the non intersecting ones), to convert it in a true and much better110296 vector...
@PhilM: thanks for the tip, but using an old version, I'm not sure I understood the various steps: you talk about mirroring objects, this means I have to create a closed curve first and then edit?...
@gwpriester: with a toggle button, yes if it's on. It's a tool very often used in 3d sw (symmetry tool) and in 2d painting sw like sketchbook and painter.
@acorn: obviously there is some alternative...
And what about this tool? Already requested? If you want to draw a pot, a glass, a bottle, a face, a human beeing, a butterfly, a building, a mechanical part,...
Yes, this is a possibilty, but every time you have to create a brush, and to do that you have to create the effect you want, and it's time consuming. The new tool should work as a normal fill option,...
@iamtheblues: it's a good idea, but not what I was thinking at: I try to attach a rough exemple, hoping it's enough self-explanatory
Thanks to all: the problem was not with the old version of Xara but with the old version of my brain's firmware. I updated it and now should work (the brain, not Xara... :)). Another interesting tool...
I'm not sure if someone asked it before me, anyway: I feel frustrated when, after drawing a rectangle or an ellipse, I rotate it, and from this point on I'm not able to change width or lenght, just...
Yes, even if gaving me an error message I can open it. And I thing I understood what you did, and opening with PPX5 it's all ok. This the pros. The cons is I have to correct all the lines colours....
Thanls again Mike for your help. I attach the .xar file and the resulting pdf. Yes, as you guess, I'm using PPX5 just to check colours.
thanks mwenz. I use the pdf version 1.8 (even 1.7) to make text in a separate layer, so the editor can resize or change font whitout affecting shapes. And it's the only that can export choosing...
An editor asked me to create some illustrations in only two colours. In Xara all seems ok, but when I exported the images in pdf (the editor asked me this format)8532185322, both graphics filled with...
I like it very much. This is a sort of concept image I would be able to create. Very appreciated. lupen
Many thanks Gray for your comment. Lupen
Thanks Hwy101. Yes, I still have it. I bought this model in a flea market, years ago. Lupen
Your flowers are always very nice. Congratulations. lupen
Thanks Wizard509 and Ontos for your comments. lupen
Thanks a lot Jim, Guy, Gary, Psaumure, Antspants, Angelize and Evgeny for your positive comments. lupen
At a first glance I thought this could have been an interesting and not to difficult subject. Wrong! The old, scratchy and oxidized brass has been very difficult, and I made several attempts to...
@gwpriester: yes, I use a "standard" illumination, with 4 soft lights. When needed, I add a spotlight from the back to enphasize the objects edges.
@wizard509: only criticism can help to improve, so...
Thanks again to all for your comments.
@Jvila: I am glad to hear you again. Thanks a lot.
@wizard509: I understand what you are saying. I attach a new version with 2 small dark shadows under the...
Thanks to all for the positive comments.
@wizard509: my works are never perfects, so you are probably right. Anyway, I attach the original photo I shot. It seems to me that even in the photo shadows...
