Yes it has this nice feature that you can open a psd-fil with the layers intact (except complicated style-layers), create a new layer for the linework and save it as a psd again.

The line-drawing is a mix of shapes- converted into editable shapes - and freehand-drawing with a tablet. Its drawn upon a pencil-sketch, which is deleted when it had done it's job.

You are probably right, but it would be nice to manage to create simple brushes in Painter for colouring large areas in order to quit the jumping between photoshop and painter.
