    Re: Supermarine Seafang

Thanks all for having a look. The Supermarine line of Spitfire type aircraft just seemed to get it right. They look as good today as they did then.

    Supermarine Seafang

First flown 1946, Griffon powered with contra rotating props, designed for carrier use. Only a few were built as it was the start of the jet age. This is some old work.

    Re: One Old, One New

Gary, the Blackbird was an awesome looking plane. When you think it was designed and built in the 60's. Makes you wonder what's on the drawing boards now.

Hi Joe, I get most info off web. I look for a 3 view drawing of what it might have looked like and go from there. You can get the general layout of the aircraft from other aircraft of the same time...

    Armstrong Whitworth X-Plane

The Armstrong Whitworth AW-49 was a concept that didn't reach fruition. Nevertheless it was an interesting design.A couple of illustrations of what the plane would have looked like.
