Re: New logo for Microsoft Edge

Meh. While I didn't overly like the former Edge logo, I think the new logo's story is better than the actual logo.

    Re: From the ground up.

    I'm with you, Jono.

And I wouldn't mind a couple more XDP capabilities rolled into XP&GD, too. Heck, I wouldn't mind the OCC removed from it, either...
  3. Re: Any compelling reason to keep renewing Pro X annual licence??

    Hi John,

It is a subset of the overall issue.

Yep, Xara was going to look into separation of bug fixes and feature updates. But it hasn't happened. I use little on-line content and when I do...
  4. Re: Any compelling reason to keep renewing Pro X annual licence??

I was not gonna reply in this thread...

While I more or less agree re. updated capabilities during the "update period" (but in the main, I disagree if compared to other, perpetually licensed...
  5. Re: Delay on start up. Adding colors to the document

The last update affects my P&GD as well. For me the wait is roughly an extra 10-15 seconds. It's still annoying.

    Re: Recreating 1956 Calendar

Wonderful project. But unfortunately, I cannot identify the typeface for the numerals. What a unique 3.

The month name is using Corvinus, perhaps the Skyline style.

    Re: thin line across graphic

    You're welcome.

The reason for the suggestion about using a photo document is that, at least for myself, I find the "blank canvas" less distracting to a page. I do a lot of bitmap work using that...

    Re: thin line across graphic

Copy it into a new Photo document. Ensure the pieces are of whole pixel dimensions. Make sure they reside on whole pixel coordinates. Then try your export.

    Re: Licence

With some/most decent text editors you can perform diffs on the text versions. Notepad++ can even do so.

Not saying they need to use a proper rtf file...they should.

    Poll: Re: Automatic image naming

I did. So I'll go a little slower then.

Just because a file is linked doesn't mean it cannot be resized in Xara applications. Same goes for any effects and/or alterations one may make. One can do...

    Poll: Re: Automatic image naming

    Yes, no, no...

Just yesterday I helped someone with a print issue where the effective resolution of a 7 degree rotated image was over 2000dpi and couldn't figure out why on earth its output to a...

    Poll: Re: Automatic image naming

I'm not really seeing a difference between web/print.

It seems to me that in addition to storing the original filename, you would just need to also save the pathname, be it a full path if outside...

    Poll: Re: Automatic image naming

Rob, wouldn't true image linking be a solution for webby stuff using an original filename and keep larger sites more responsive? This would also be true for people making books, brochures, large...

  19. Re: Pro X9 user needs advice on current versions

Xara Photo & Graphic Designer fits your requirements, including the healing tool. It is also quite inexpensive.

Whether or not "industry acceptance" is important to you is a matter to consider. I...

Re: Exporting to SVG without exporting the page?

Blank Photo document is what I use...for many types of exports. No page size and so it always uses objects' bounds.
  21. Re: Days of woe for Adobe CS6 and earlier users on Mac

MacOS Catalina requires applications to be both 64-bit and notorized by Apple, as well as use the current xcode development platform.

The will be allowing applications that are 64-bit but not...

Re: Windows Segoe UI Emoji Color Font

I've used color fonts on precisely 3 jobs over the past 3 years. None were an emoji font.

They are encoded in such a way that Xara applications do not understand. The screen shot below is from...

Re: Windows Segoe UI Emoji Color Font

Segoe UI Emoji is a color font using the COLR color format. It should be the easiest color format to support. But SVG color fonts should also be added at that time. If Xara will add color font...
