  1. Re: Is it possible to revert to old handle functions

Well that's strange. I am using P&GD16 and the new improved blue control handles are not there...it seems to be the old behaviour again.
  2. Re: Is it possible to revert to old handle functions

No need to post anything. It is just Nanny Xara's way of making so-called improvements that tend to cause no end of problems.
As far as I know there is no way of reverting to the older, better...

    Re: text in a spiral

I would choose Illustrator for this as my weapon of choice, as it is very easy to place text and do it on the fly to produce what you want without any hassle. This was done in version CS6 (2012) so...

    Re: text in a spiral

Works well enough, Christine, but it seems a bit hit-and-miss regarding placement on the spiral shape.

    Re: Pop-up Hell

I already explained that above...and I do know what to do, I removed the program from my system.

    Re: Pop-up Hell

'Xara Designer Pro' and 'Xara Graphic Designer' the clues are there in the titles of these 2 programs. They are both called 'Designer' presumably because they are purportedly for use by Designers....

    Pop-up Hell

I just downloaded and installed the latest iteration of Xara Photo and Graphic whatever the thing is called these days, just to give it a text drive.
I loaded a blank template, clicked on the Text...

Re: I really don't know why, but I did...

It's easy for me to be wise after your event, but if you only use Xara for design work, you could opt for Xara Photo & Graphic Designer instead. No difference in the software, (minus the webby bits,...

Re: Image Squishy Squashy solved for v15.0

Everyone on this thread seems to be extremely sanguine about the Squishy Squashy problem and indeed everything else that MagiXara has managed to make an absolute dog's breakfast of. CEO Boulton is...

    Re: Little Weed

Very nice, Egg. This reminds me of what they now call 'Mid-Century' Artwork. It has a lovely comic-book style.

Re: Help needed from XDP16 users

    Rik,
I have every sympathy with the situation you find yourself in by virtue of upgrading.
The latest version is awful for so many reasons, as you are finding out. I blame Windows for this trend,...
  12. Re: What is a major feature or improvement you would like to see in Xara?

I am sorry that you feel that way, Rob.
It just that we have responded throughout the Dear Xara... forum with many and varied suggested that have not merited any replies from Dear Xara. We feel that...
  13. Re: What is a major feature or improvement you would like to see in Xara?

As Jono said above, 'I was a bit surprised to see this thread as I'd have thought you already must have more than enough suggestions [to shake a stick at] dotted throughout the 'Dear Xara..' forum'....

    Re: Xara Xone access problem?

The link you supplied works fine here in Spain, Jono.
  16. Re: What is a major feature or improvement you would like to see in Xara?

A 3D Tool and Bevel Tool that works without having bitmap elements...ie, true vector.

  18. Re: It's a shame that Xara is ignored by Retro Supply and vector Lab products...

Judging by the traffic at TG these days, I imagine that's about right. The demographic probably means that natural wastage will impact some time soon...
  19. Re: It's a shame that Xara is ignored by Retro Supply and vector Lab products...

Windows does have 4 times the user base compared to Mac, so it would make good business sense to aim for the larger market, I would have thought. But I am happy to be disabused of the idea.
  20. Re: It's a shame that Xara is ignored by Retro Supply and vector Lab products...

Well, that makes some sense, Steve.
Probably no need for anyone from Xara to enlarge upon that, then.
  21. It's a shame that Xara is ignored by Retro Supply and vector Lab products...

I love Xara - especially for its ease of use, but it is starting to get rather bogged down with the introduction of new features, which seem to require pop-up dialogue boxes in order to function. For...

    Well done Xara!

Yes, well done Xara for getting to grips with the dark art of ligatures and contextual alternates in a way that is fairly straightforward to use.
