What did XARA do to my website?
Having a couple of issues:
The navigation menu works fine in local mode, but when uploaded the sub-menus appear as text only. Now solid color background.
It's the same on 3 different browsers. WSIWYG is fine...it's only when the site is on line
Same with the color 'side panels'. When uploaded it appears as white whereas WSIWYG is blue.
With these two issues I thought maybe I should download the Content Installer. BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE!
Now when the site is viewed online, it's putting funky text on the nav buttons and even changed text on some pages.
Again, this does not show up on WSIWYG. How can I un-install Content Installer.
Thanks

Re: What did XARA do to my website?
Skip, absolutely nothing to do with the Content Installer - do read the background for what it is for.
A first step to fix your viewing is in the browser, press Ctrl+F5 - this purges the local cache of the changes JS & CSS files causing the funny presentation.
This happens when you publish repeatedly.
If it is still happening, it may be caching on your server.
To prove that publish to a sub-folder under your present site.
Pass back a link to your site if you are still having issues.

Re: What did XARA do to my website?
Thanks Acorn...I had already done what you suggested. Even went to the server and purged everything.
It was after I installed Content Installer that the site changed.
If you go to dittsies.com and mouse over the 4th button you get BUTTONS and when clicked on the header on the page has been changed.
None of this shows up in WSIWYG...but when I upload the site...it gets changed.
The submenus show up fine when viewed on a phone. Only on desktops and laptops do I get text only.
Is it browser compatibility?
Thanks

I get Barrettes:
Code:
<a href="barrettes.htm" target="_self" onclick="return(xr_nn());">
<img class="xr_rn_ xr_ap" src="http://dittsies.com/index_htm_files/129@2x.png" alt="Barrettes" title="Barrettes" onmousemove="xr_mo(this,0,event)" style="left: 0px; top: 141px; width: 193px; height: 43px;">
<img class="xr_rn_ xr_ap xr_ro xr_ro0 xr_tt3" src="http://dittsies.com/index_htm_files/137@2x.png" alt="Barrettes" title="Barrettes" style="left: 0px; top: 141px; width: 193px; height: 43px;">
</a>
"Buttons" does not appear in any code on index.htm.

Re: What did XARA do to my website?
I'm using Chrome, Firefox & Edge. Also Android & iPhone. Same Results on all
Even went to another desktop that never had viewed the site before with the same results

Attachment 128300
The first pic is what I see when 'Barrettes' is moused over
The second pic is with Barretttes selected and About is moused over.
Notice how the word Dittsies was also altered in the main window
I'm using WD Premium 11 and have been without any of these issues before. Of course I never installed Content Installer before.
I noticed in your screenshot that you have the blue sides. I only get the color on the phones.
Are you seeing a blue background on the sub-menu (IE: Earrings) I get text only with no background.

This is from the Home page. The word Dittsies was changed to Text.
Thanks so much
Re: What did XARA do to my website?
I believe that I am seeing the site properly. I get a menu with a background and I don't get pic 2.

Re: What did XARA do to my website?
Lemme see if I can make this clearer for pic 2
I selected the Barrettes button. In the main frame it is showing a modified Dittsies. White with a slant. Where it should show Barrettes in pink
While that page was still selected, I moused over the About button and I get orange text that says Buttons

I think you are publishing into the wrong location.
http://dittsies.com opens into listing of folders are there is no index.htm page.
Index of /
If I follow the www folder (http://dittsies.com/www/), I get to a working site.

Re: What did XARA do to my website?
You probably caught me as I was purging everything on the server.
I did try the WWW folder just to see if that made a difference.
I did get much of it working again, although I'm still getting "Fun Jewelry" when mousing over Holiday Items
I believe it's still gotta be caching somewhere. I even did a complete reset of Chrome and still getting the same issues.
I know you said it's not Content Installer but all these problems started when I installed it. I un-installed Content Installer and then could not FTP the site to the server.
I wound up re-installing WD Premium 11 to correct that problem.
I'm gonna re-build the menu and see if that helps
Re: What did XARA do to my website?
I'll stick my neck out and say is is definitely caching.
