Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
looks good - crude is in the eye of the beholder if it works, which I am sure it does - would need two versions, one for TC and one for TC+ALPHA, assuming you can tab through [resolution I could fix in the registry as most of my stuff is the same: 600dpi + some legacy 300dpi] :D

Yeah, that's a bit more complicated but not impossible as you have to trigger some flyout menus.
I always create bitmaps with alpha when inside the project, it's only when I export that I use true color when needed.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
bitmap tracing works best, in xara, without alpha [makes little or no difference in inkscape/illy]

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
I beg you. The coding on this is easy as pie for you guys. When viewing in the browser, let us choose which browser opens up and not the (Xara Designer Pro X - Internet Explorer Preview) Internet Explorer is no longer supported, chrome is the most used browser, plus if you give users the option of choosing their own browser in the settings this would help us all. Tired of closing additional windows.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
There's no need to double post. Rob reads all. :)
Please think ecologically.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
The push tool needs to be set once and continues for all items. If not for horizontal spacing but definitely for the vertical part. Having to do this for every element is a pain. Right now I am not using it anymore.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Making custom bullets and using the bullet feature to apply to all lines of text.

XDPX16 already has this:
Quote:
Graphical Bullets and Numbered Lists
You can use any graphic or symbol for the bullet or number in a list. You can design your
own bullets and numbered lists by using any of the normal drawing or text tools, or use
one of the many bullet designs from the Online Content Catalog. Create a simple circle
using the ELLIPSE TOOL for example, give it a fill and copy it to the clipboard. Then
highlight the list you want to apply the style to using the TEXT TOOL. Right click the list
and choose PASTE AS LIST BULLET from the menu. The design will now appear as a bullet
for each of the list items.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Vector Fill Option perhaps?
Now I have to first make a bitmap copy that I can use as a fill.
If possible of course... Thanks :)

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
OMG Acorn yes, another hidden feature the right click. Thanks. I did know about the rest but PASTE AS LIST BULLET is a life savor. Thanks.

This is a good suggestion, Can you make this so it will always stay what my selection is when copying and pasting from web to my work.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Hi,
The popup question when you cut or delete a live copy (delete just this?) is annoying.
Thanks.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
How would you want to have it differently?
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
@Rob-Xar, I have just counted 40 Dear Xaras that I have raised in the last year that might have some workflow improvements that have never been acknowledged.
Perhaps a review of these would assist in your review?

Long time wish on my list is themesh-fill-tool.

It just delete the one selected.
Maybe an option on right click to "delete all" .

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Maybe this is already possible but I would like to be able to arrange images bottom of one to top of the other. So far all I find is arrange top, arrange bottom arrange right, arrange left and arrange centrally
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Not sure if that would be an improvement though.

Stick them all in a one-column table.

@Acorn,
If you have a list of the workflow improvements or the links to the threads I'd be happy to go through and review them, adding them to the list where they are missing
Thanks

Thanks Rob
Thank you Rob. We all would appreciate even a simple acknowledgement that a bug or change has been added to the Backlog, regardless of whether is is going to be in any future rework.
Here are the earlier four as a sampler for (1) They were included (2) They are fixed (3) They won't be addressed (4) They are not relevant to the Thread's purpose.
There is no point is overloading the Thread if you think they are not worth the candle.
I am using TG's Advanced Search > Search Single Content Type:: User Name Acorn, Latest Posts by User; Search in Forum(s): Dear Xara; Find Posts: A Year Ago.
Clearly I have been busy so you then have to walk through the 40+ Threads with no Replies.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
New one and quite small.
Clicking on one of the nine boxes in the Set origin position should toggle on the Rotation handles control.
Acorn
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Another small one.
With no object select and the Rotation handles toggled on, clicking an object should keep the Rotation handles toggles on.
In other words, stop the Rotation handles icon being scared.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Hi,
Using the rotation origin as scaling blobs center when would also be very useful, especially when aligniing bitmaps.
Using the info panel arrows is a hit and miss process.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
What would be very helpful is when 'Editing Inside a Group' by double clicking...
Have the rest of the design still show but have it perhaps locked and displayed slightly faded.
So the Group stands out but still be able to see the overall design you are working on.
Thanks!
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
oh yes - that would make the edit inside actually so much more useful - why are we expected to work 'out of context' ?
ditto clipview - would it not be so much more useful if you could see how it was going to be clipped as you make the objects to be clipped...

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
I would like to suggest a different colour or hatching pattern to show the pasteboard areas that go beyond the rulers. (see attached mockup below).
Attachment 123913
This would then indicate you are entering the 'Twilight Zone' where objects can disappear when zooming, and right-click-drag copied objects can unexpectedly jump across hyperspace.
To experience the issue with zooming:
a) open new A4 Portrait (blank)
b) zoom out to 25%
c) draw or paste something on the pasteboard near the right edge
d) zoom back to 100%
e) now try and find what you have just pasted or drawn!
To witness the hyperjump (also see attached screen clip Attachment 123914):
a) open new A4 Portrait (blank)
b) zoom out to 25%
c) draw or something (an ellipse for example) on the pasteboard near the right edge
d) right-click-drag-copy the object to the right
e) notice anything spooky?
f) right-click-drag-copy the object to the left
g) notice something not spooky?
Obviously this is an extreme example, but if for example, you are zoomed in when you do this, the new copy can often be placed completely off screen and out view so you have to zoom out or scroll about to find it.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Another Improvement would be if lets say I'm Using the Shadow Tool...
Perhaps Small Copy & Paste Buttons? I noticed there is room for them.
Forgive me if already mentioned somewhere... I don't always read every comment

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Please allow us to use colored guide lines. So an option to choose multiple colors on guides, possibly right click on a guide and select or assign a color.

Please remove this nag screen. It is best shown in the info panel or somewhere else.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
I'd really like an option to postpone publishing of particular variants (not just particular pages). In another thread we discussed options such as temporarily making the width of a variant too narrow to appear in any browser, but it's still 'out there.' Much of my work involves publishing a desktop site to a tight deadline, and only afterwards finalising the mobile version.

A toolbar button to quickly open the containing folder of the file your working on in explorer.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
The ability to say your custom settings in a profile so that each time you update or install a new version you don't have to recreate tool bars, turn off scale line width, disable Smart Transform, enable the Legacy keyboard commands, etc. etc. etc.

+1 It's one of the main reasons (beside the high price) I don't want to upgrade each time.
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
+1 I have yet to use version 16 for that reason... Have to set it all up again.
Is 16 stable enough to work with on a daily basis after the 16.1 update? (Sorry if out of line here! :o)

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
When I'm using the Text Tool there doesn't seem to be an easy way to reposition the text on the page.
Unless I have been doing it wrong all this time I have to switch to the Selector Tool (Can't press V),
move the text and then go back to the Text Tool (T) by double clicking or by Button / Keystroke (I always forget about the keys).
Maybe by grabbing a single letter we can move the whole darn Text to where we want it?
Thanks and Happy Friday's Eve! :)
