Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
Here's a pic of a group of ellipses that are nicely round without any feathering. Below are the exact same with .32 pt and .41 pt, etc. feathering applied. Note the ellipses become irregular.
Now..........I realize this is a small thing, BUT, it just irks me that this should happen when I've worked so hard to attempt photo-realism.
I don't know......it's just been bothering for such a long time; I just had to say something.

Try converting the Blend to Editable Shapes and Ungrouping before applying the feathering.

Ron I just looked at your file in XP&GD15 and did not see the same problem. It worked perfect.
Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
Acorn I didn't have to do that. I find it odd that I didn't even have to hold ctrl key to access inside the group. I'll check further.
Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
OK I checked and what I had was not grouped. Odd huh.
Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
I have seen other distortions in version 15 at times but i have been lazy in marking them up for investigation.
Must do better,

Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
That's strange that you're not seeing the same thing I'm seeing and have posted.
BYW, I don't have the problem with the blend part, it's the ellipses that are not blended. Even when they are not grouped they show the distortion on my computer screen. I'm using X15 Pro.
As soon as I remove the feathering, the distortion goes away.
Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
don't see anything like as much flattening out when opening your xar in version 12, but I do think I see some on the ellipses
I think what you are seeing maybe an unfortunate consequence of the angle your ellipses are tilted at, the degree to which they are not perfectly symetrical and maybe inteference patterns as a consequence where feathering lies on feathering - but I'm guessing...
no idea why it should be worse in ver 15 ?

OK this is what I see, when I downloaded Ron's file
NOTE: the arrows do not show, and nothing was grouped.

EDIT: Maybe I am missing something but it looks OK to me.
Re: Misshapen Ellipses After Applying Feathering
That's what I got in XDP v15 and v12. I can't see a difference.
