Right click on the page or the pasteboard. Is Website Variants enabled in the fly out menu?
You won't have a Variant option for a Presentation website.
Check Web Properties > Website > Other.
Ditto for Print Documents: Utilities > Options > Document editing > Document type.

thanks a lot to both of you. Acorn´s suggestion actually helped me...the page was set as print document so i changed it and it s ok now :) Thanks again.
