Illustration for a Newspaper Banner
In 2018 I redesigned the masthead for our local monthly newspaper, The Signpost. To keep the banner fresh, we decided to have a different image replace the O in SIGNPOST each month. Most of the months I use a stock photo of a circular object or sometimes one of my own images, the striped rock for example. Or sometimes I illustrate the O in Designer Pro+.
This month I wanted to do an old rotary phone dial and found a great photo on one of the stock photo websites. But it was not the stock photo source I use and I did not want to have to set up a new account.
So I recreated the dial in Designer Pro+ and changed some of the details on the center of the dial. The phone number was our phone number in the 40s when I was a wee lad.
I used the 3D Extrude Tool to add the rounded edges to the dial.

Your creative thinking and attention to design detail is a constant feature of your excellent work. This is imaginative and functional and exactly fits it's purpose.

Well done Garry! I like the idea to the rotating themes. We did something like this in the early 1980s, not with a glyph but a logo, filled with textures for every month.

I'm getting a busy signal. :) Nice work Acorn. But did you listen first for the dial tone?
