Awesome, Gary.
I'm very impressed with the centre plaque. My efforts look like crayon drawings compared to the subtle details Gary, and others on TG, seem to apply instinctively.
Difference between a professional and a pratter-arounder.
I'm now going to pratt around, get discouraged, drink a beer, try again, close the page without saving and edit music instead.
I found the attached doing a search for interlocking panels. It's helped me understand how to accomplish this using a hexagon to construct the piece.
So here's what I was trying to accomplish with my past pattern [rolls eyes] http://gwpriester.xara.hosting/inter...g-pattern-two/
I had one helluva time with a thin hairline showing up where the two hexagons came together, each containing one half the fill, so I cheated: I place a copy of the filled shape on top of the two halves.
Gary, you might get fewer splits with this pattern:

Last one, I swear. I spent way too much time on this one. http://gwpriester.xara.hosting/inter...pattern-three/
It's like an addiction. http://gwpriester.xara.hosting/inter...-pattern-four/
UPDATE: I made some changes in the pattern which works better and you can see in the link
Gary, you've clearly put a hex on yourself.
When you do your slicing, do you put a No Fill , No Line with box on top of your pattern and then Combine Shapes > Slice?
This works well when the pattern has no Line Width shapes being cut through.
Far trickier when there are lines involved.

Yes, and I work in outline view at 500-1000% but there are still some problems when slicing a group of shapes.Quote:
