Here's an image based upon the badge of a local (and my favourite) sporting team
I used this for the title banner of my unofficial supportes web site as well, and I'm very pleased with the results.
This is not a direct copy however, and I will post a scan of the real badge.

Nice sharp piece of artwork there Michael. Footy-mad (union-wise) are the folks over here, and I'm sure you've seen this union player in action too..

Jonah Lomu, an old gif but thought it relevant to dust it off here. Done in X2 couple years ago

Quentin, that's quite brilliant!
Not only does it tell you everything you need to know (?) about Jonah Lomu, but it keeps him running where most folk might have animated him in fits and starts from right to left (if you see what I mean)...

Can't say I'm too crazy about Rugby Union, we're all really big Rugby League fans around here... but I'll give credit when credits due. This is a great image, well done!

Peter, well as you would know from the experience of following cricket teams (Aussie cricket enthusiasts exempted grrrr), sports teams have a habit of erratic behaviour, (exempting the Indian cricketers who have bookies enabling a certain consistency of performance) .. and the All Blacks (NZ Footie Gods to youse non-believers in the oval ball) are definitely erratic players.
Jonah is a God but he is a human god so he can have off days as well. But when he gets into stride it is poetry in motion and even I am compelled to drink beer and watch TV and scream at it.

Hi Q
Great Lomu anim. Glad to see that the would be tackler is not wearing a Wobblies guernsey.
Why exempt Aussie cricket supporters? We got a bit of a serve from the Indians in the Tests just completed & the one dayers are going down to the wire. (Good result for the promoters & Pay TV guys)

Hope I've not been misunderstood!

I quite agree! That's what's so great about the animation! I'm not sure if I'd have thought of creating the illusion of a continuous long run by keeping him on the spot and moving everything else... All I meant about 'right to left' is that I'd have probably spoilt it by moving him and not the background (oops, unfortunate opposing team...)
