create a button

Hi to everyone,
I bought a copy of web design. It is great and easy to use.

Now I'd like to create my own button (I don't want to modify an existing one).
is it possible? And if so how can I do it?

Ok, I saw the tutorials but I don't understand how the Xara template buttons work.
The buttons are on the 2 layers MouseOff and MouseOver. I tried to make the same but when my mouse go on a button, every thing on layer MouseOver appear.

You need to group the Mouseoff, then the Mouseover buttons.
Then select both buttons and apply soft grouping.
Once this is done you can apply the nav bar.

A) I made a rectangular and a text over it (on layer MouseOff).
B) After I grouped the rectangular and the text together.
C) Then I copied this group on the layer MouseOver. I ungroup the button, I changed the color of the rectangular, I reselect rectangular and text and made a group.
D) The 2 layers (MouseOff and MouseOver) were switch. I select the 2 buttons and I made a soft group.
E) I apply the navigation bar. On The Nav Bar properties I add some new buttons
F) Now if I go with my mouse on the first button doesn't change colour while the others button change colour.

What I'm doing wrong? Is it correct the way I create buttons?

You need to have a URL address added to the buttons to make them work.
