Open Source AI
What people are discovering with AI products: https://www.semianalysis.com/p/googl...at-and-neither.
The Timeline is fascinating.
I jumped into this site https://chat.lmsys.org to have a play.
It is also interesting that you can run your own on your PC for a download of 8GB - https://gpt4all.io/index.html.
Not for the faint-hearted, Xara.
One day, a curated LLM of TalkGraphics or even Xara's Help system at your fingertips, an SEO enhancer (@behzad), image generator and punchy prose to help build your clients' websites, that is if they've not done them already.

Re: Open Source AI
I see a future that in some ways will be a reversion to how it once was
If you want to be sure something is true, you are going to have to get it from a trusted source, and you are going to have to pay for it; of course there will be those who set up shop as merchants of truth, charge for it, and provide no such thing... we will be in very uncertain times, who will we be able to trust?
one thing for sure, if it's free, especially on the wiki model, it's toast; holding back the floodgates of mis-information will not come cheap...

Re: Open Source AI
What scares me about AI is how it will be misused and not just politically. Take your favorite TV show. AI can write in a character's voice and given a small amount of direction will probably be able to write the better parts of each episode.
IBM has been a ban on hiring because they expect a lot of jobs will be done by AI.
But the last laugh will be when large corporate boards of directors figure out that the decisions made by that CEO who earns hundreds of millions of dollars a year can be made via AI with no perks, bonuses, condos in Birratz etc.
And I am seeing some incredible AI generated stereogram work.
