original was faulty.
another senior moment.
WOW!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LOVE ships. One of these days I think I'll try drawing one...
but I don't want to do it from a picture. I guess I'll just bring a full-blown ship down here in the basement and do it by looking at it.....
Thanks Bob, that must be some basement you have. You will also have to make room for all those boxes we sent to you on another thread. Ha HA
Glad you hosed down the deck - looked as if you'd been flensing a whale...
That's a lovely-looking ship. One piece of advice I would give is to try and avoid thin black outlines - they make otherwise excellent pictures look like clip-art in my opinion.

Fine sailing ship, Norman. Have you been a professional sailor, or just a love of the sea?
Hi Parahandy,
Here is one for you to go with you forum handle. Did this one about 3years ago, hope you like it
Albacore, thank you for your picture. I wonder if art was your speciallity when you were teaching? that's a very nice picture of the Vital Spark. To the other members of the forum "Parahandy" was the name of the Vital Spark's skipper (he was a comical character) it was featured in a television series for many years.
It would be nice to see some entries about ships from other members of the forum.
Bill to answer your question no, I was a wartime soldier and while I was for about 2 1/2 years stationed at sea on a seafort (Nomansland Fort) 5 miles off the coast of Portsmouth (Coastal defense) and had to sail quite often I was never a good sailor, like Nelson I was seasick a lot.
Simon thank you for the advice about the outlines. The reason I put them in was because when I was drawing it, the sails were white against a white background, so it's good to learn these points I still have a lot to learn.
Thank you all for your kind remarks. Norman
Nice work.
the 3 white surfs bother me a bit. what if you fade them slightly or apply trans. at the edges. The waves in front of the ship are beautiful.
