ok - made what I wanted - but is HARD to edit -- must be a better way next time????
still new XARA users (after 25 years coding by hand, etc)
made a site with stack rectangles (near to full width of the page)
color-filled them according to the purpose
(eg main header, soft header, text, etc)
was not too hard, until time to edit

for example - want to add/delete text - then I need to edit box size
see the one box with too much grey?
that was result of changing normal font size 16 to 14
(is there a way for the box to auto-size itself?
(sire - I saw AUTO fit - but that reduces font size - I want the box to auto-adjust to the text -
(either bigger or smaller)
and as there are about 20 boxes -
it became VERY tediously a PIA
and will want to insert photos here and there
(either IN some of the text boxes
or
simple rows of photos - maybe even some form of carousel?)
I certainly do not want to drag each box and 'its' text down every time
the first thing that comes to mind is a text box that has background fill? like PPT?
(but could not deduce how to do that)
did try a few times to group the text and its box - then I need to move one item
so
another question ( which would help alot)
is there a way to insert 'anything' (photo, widget, text box etc)
and have all the things auto slide 'down' (like inserting something in a word document?)
thanks!
ps
mostly a single page site (an extra page with navbar)
started with a template
and deleted ALL the items (eg sample text and photos)

Re: ok - made what I wanted - but is HARD to edit -- must be a better way next time?
If your primary question is can one create multiple blocks of text and graphics, make changes to one block and have the other blocks auto fit the page, then YES:
Use the "Push" function for each block, use Fixed Inside for text within a block (font size remains the same) and Repel Text Under for any graphics, animations and videos. By using the push function the page length automatically extends to accommodate the content length. The only action you need take is to resize the edited block to accommodate the changes in content.

Your site http://www.TheRavenswoodGroup.com does not look to have 20 boxes though; were it to extend to that number it would likely be better to have the boxes as separate pages and the export the site as a supersite, with page headings and page links on the index page. This would reduce load times and make it easier to manage the mobile variant.
Re: ok - made what I wanted - but is HARD to edit -- must be a better way next time?
did not try the PUSH yet
but it sounds perfect
and yes -
most boxes are gone
(they were colored shapes sitting behind the text - light grey)
I removed them all (guess before you looked)
as they added little to the site
and were too much work
I will 'learn more' of the supersite idea
thanks for the suggestion!
