What product are you using to create this? I just tried this in Designer Pro X 17, latest update, exported for commercial printing option, no problems.
Did you close Xara and then reopen and try again?
sorry i use
Xara Designer Pro X 17.1.0.60486 DL x64 Oct 29 2020
>>> Did you close Xara and then reopen and try again?
after the crash i had to restart,
but i did not reboot.
Try this again in a new document and see if the same thing happens again.
Sometimes a document gets corrupted. I opened your file and I had not problem exporting to PDF/X.
If I export as an RGB or as Native pdf, then I too get an exception error and crash. As Gary mentioned, a cmyk export works.
Not sure this will help you identify the issue, but on v17.0 - select High Quality, Advanced - RGB or Native and it works. CMYK works, but with washed-out colours, as does Commercial print (also the same washed out colours)
Hi rsrsrs, I'll log this for our developers to look at.
Thanks
Rob
Hi Rob,
great and thanks.
if you need a log file, pls let me know.
unfortunatly my direct Log uploud does not work here, some firewall restriction i guess.
There seems to be a problem with the fill method here. Copy the fill attributes of the group, dissolve the group, paste the fill attributes into the individual objects and then group them again. Then the export works.

just had a look - its a transparency fractal fill applied to the group - werner may have something there, xara transparencies can be tricky in other file formats
Ist there a way to reinstall the old version of Xara next to this new one?
problem, is that already installed Xara on a second PC (Corona Homeoffice) with the same serial.
I did open a older document, whith this new Xara and cant export it to PDF
ther are 9 pages on the document and i dont want to search around to any fillings,
which are breaking xara.
with the old (testversion) Xara ist works, but only for 7 days.
OH MORE BUG!
repeating transparent lines crash pdf export.
What a nightmare. Many of these artworks have to go to the Client via PDF.
XARA do something !
I opened your file in Pro+ and exported a PDF > Commercial Printing with no problems.
Strange.
but i export as RGB
Adobe Reader 8.

OK I exported PDF Adobe Reader 8, RGB no problems. I am not sure what is happening. Maybe you need to export in English? :)
Hi Gary,
this is strange.
what version do you use?
i use
Xara Designer Pro X 17.1.0.60742 DL x64 Dec 9 2020
in German ;-)
Heh heh, I know. :)Quote:

OK I tried this in Designer Pro X 17 and YES it does crash!!!
I was using Pro+ 17.
@rsrsrs
Have you tried to export with the PDF/X-3-Filter with setting RGB? Here no problems.
Hast Du schon einmal versucht den PDF/X-3-Filter mit der Einstellung RGB zu verwenden? Bei mir funktioniert das.
Version Xara Designer Pro X 17.1.0.60742 DL x64 Dec 9 2020 - German / Deutsch
Greats / Gruß
Werner
Moin @Werner & Gary and the rest.
yes, PDF/X-3 works.
thanks all!
in both pdf versions, also the one from garys Pro+ 17, the transpary gradient is now a bitmap filling,
which is + - OK for me.
i have to keep this in my mind.
@rsrsrs
As far as possible, I refrain from using transparencies. In the example here.
I would convert the lines to a path group and then fill them with a color gradient.
The transparency then remains as a vector and not as a bitmap.
