28-0. Anybody else care to weigh in.

What gets me are the flip buttons which are enabled, while the function is disabled. Pretty basic behaviour that wasted a fair chunk of my time before I could figure out that the fix-ratio lock button needed to be set to ON to enable the flipping of a bitmap Image. I agree the old ways should be the default, whereas the new way should either be a user enabled option, or enabled by an extension key (such as Alt).

A lot of the time I read this without logging in, so there’s no function. Anyway, I’ve voted now.

I don’t feel hopeful. This is not our product and they are entitled to take any development and marketing decisions they like, but I feel so sad that they’ve made these particular choices. They are becoming ordinary, and not the amazing thing they were, are, should be.

There must have been research, but I’ve no idea who they asked. All the people I know use Xara like I do. For most, it replaced photoshop, illustrator, fireworks, dreamweaver and NetObjects.

I’m crossing everything that the professional version isn’t disappeared, but in my time I’ve seen a lot of excellent software put to death.

Everything seems to be so ignobly handled at present.
We are lacking a Xara Champion for Desktop, it would seem.

To all TGers: we genuinely need your Vote (Yes or No) so just this once, log in and vote. It might be too little and too late but at least let's tell Magix and Xara they might consider a change of direction or even picking one.

well... it's bad enough that Xara/Magix is NOT involved or interacts at all on their users forum... but I think if they did stumble over this poll that's almost 2 weeks old and see only 56 votes... well... I can just hear them saying,

"let's keep doin what we're doin because the majority of our users ARE NOT bitchin' and don't really give a crap... or, The majority of our users are satisfied."

My intention was to provide feedback to Xara re: this new behavior. I think we have accomplished this and before this turns into another flamefest, I'm closing the thread. I think 52 Nay and 2 Yay is projectable and will give the R&D people something to think about. Thanks to all who participated and who took the time to vote.
