Featured Content Widget : Thumbnails not updating

Using Designer Pro X9 (64 bit) and Featured Content widget from Widget Pack 1 I have successfully included this in my website once. The thumbnails updated themselves sometime during the process of trying this out (for the first time). Now, attempting this for a second time, the thumbnails will not automatically update and I've run out of ideas as to what to do next. Any suggestions?

I've just discovered that the Featured Content widget that comes with Designer Pro X9 (64 bit) works perfectly so I'll avoid the Widget Pack 1 version in future.
