Link buttons
Hi everyone, just saying hello as this is my first ever post (is that what it's called?). Just bought XaraXtreme5 and trying to get to grips with it. Never made a web site before but quite enjoy a bit of amateur DTP so thought it was a good option for me.
I've had a few problems over the weekend (and have put a ticket in) but I'm most puzzled about linking buttons.
I've followed all the instructions I can find but when I preview my 7 page website - sometimes the links on the buttons work and sometimes it links to the Xara website. I've checked the web prop's so that home button is linked to the home page, the rugs button is linked to the rugs page etc. and I've checked the Page filenames, all correct. I'm about at my wits end. Can anyone help please?
Thanks,
Marie

Re: Link buttons
Hi Marie,
Welcome to Talkgraphics.
Would you attach your .xar file for your website so we can examine it?

Re: Link buttons
Hi Soquili, thank you for responding.
Without sounding ever so stupid!!! how do I attach my .xar file? and where do I find it?
Can you tell I'm a real 40 something beginner?
Regards,
Marie

Re: Link buttons
Marie the forums have two editors for making posts. I believe the default is the Standard Editor, but there is a button to switch to the Advanced Editor.
In the Advanced Editor if you scroll down you will see a Manage Attachments button. See attached image.
As to where your .xar file has been saved on your hard drive, if simply saved without changing folders, I believe it defaults to your My Documents folder.

I'll try anything once! Hope this works.

Re: Link buttons
Marie your navbar has the correct page links on the home page but all the other pages have links to Xara.
You will need to either edit each of the other pages and change the links, or delete the navbars on the other pages then Select the complete navbar on the home page then use the Arrange Menu >> Repeat on All Pages. This will copy the correct navbar to all the other pages and in the same location.

Re: Link buttons
It works...thanks Bill, I was trying the first part till 1am this morning without success but the second part works perfectly. I know from DTP that something just need a bit of a tweak...
Many thanks for your time.
