I could not resist the urge to take the Celtic Knot Guest Tutorial for this month and try to recreate it as a 3D stereogram.
The actual image is 10" x 8" which is a little large to post here, but the depth is amazing at that size.

I'd like try and make one too sometime.
I like those images. I have a bunch cut from the newspaper when they were more popular some years ago. But to make your own is even better http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

we could start a thread and I could do some mini tutorials.
I have switched to Stereogram Explorer which does a much better job than PopOut Pro, the program I used for about 10 years.

seeing these isn't a driver's test requirment!
It just looks like some cheap carpet to me. No offense intended, I have never been able to distinguish these.

FWIW: My wife spotted it in seconds!

I think I am with Mike.
I could stare at that for an hour and all I see is the carpet.

Mike and Bruce
Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Yes, I wear glasses, and my wife does not. Is that what the problem is?

Hey, Mike and Bruce, put me in with you guys -- I don't see a thing. Yes, I wear glasses. But there's another reason why.
A few years ago when getting fitted for new glasses, the doctor held a piece of paper in front of me with nine identical black/white bugs on it and asked, "Which one jumps out more than the others?" I answered, "None. They all look the same." Scratching her head, she tried another one, this time it had stars on it. Same result. From there, she concluded I had no natural depth perception. Since I played quite a bit of softball, she said I've learned to compensate for the lack of perception in other ways subconsciously.
No wonder I could never understand the thrill of those View-Master reels when I was a kid. ;-)
