Xara continutes to make the choice to renew update servcie easier
Hey have you seen all those "frequent" updates for Xara Designer this year? Like that groundbreaking version 17 that was just a retail numbering release?
Making it easier and easier to commit to renewing the subscription fee for staying up-to-date when there is no up-date

"Silence came the answer" :(
Re: Xara continutes to make the choice to renew update servcie easier
I have come around to the opinion that anyone who decides to update is a completist, one who is compelled to update, no matter what. There is a degree of satisfaction to be obtained in doing this, I suppose, but there cannot be any from the product these days. It is such a shame, though.
Re: Xara continutes to make the choice to renew update servcie easier
Xara surely rely on those who 'have to' update because they are tied into the OCC/online content; not you Bob, not me...
still, when I asked xara CEO Matt the question is the magix [third party seller] verion still languishing in the shadows, I did at least get an encouraging and well reasoned reply... ie:
so everything is hunky-dory then, no need to worry eh?

The XARA / MAGIX system updates is bad. I stay with Xara designer PRO 15.1.
I don't need any more updates - wasted money.
What bothers me the most is that Xara / Magix is annoying with updating updates - it's embarrassing and indecent that it can't be turned off.

Unless you know the IP address you need to block the Xara exe from accessing using your firewall of choice. 163.172.175.38
