v16dot1 - Smart Line Groupings
Dear Xara...
I attach a file where the two Labeled lines are grouped with a shape: Attachment 123606.
This group can be manipulated with the selection bounds handles with no issue.
When I change the group to a soft-group, I lose the side controls and can only scale.
Up to now grouping effectively locks objects together so the action of the group and the constraint of the soft-group feels incorrect.
After skewing, I find an Undo creates an access violation.
After selection the Quit button, the application locks and I have to resort to using the Task Manager to kill the non-responsive processes.

Not sure if I'm following you here Acorn but I can't replicate that ???

Re: v16dot1 - Smart Line Groupings
Egg, I hope my second try is clearer.
The Grouped green box is smart and can be stretched or squashed. All fine.
I expected the same behaviour with the Soft-grouped red box but all I can do is scale.
The orange A4 ratio template ought to behave like the red box and fails in being purely A-scalable.
Amended file: Attachment 123612
I have engaged Show select bound handles (black, traditional Xara controls).

Re: v16dot1 - Smart Line Groupings
I have seen some problems with that after undoing which I'll get logged, but if I'm not mistaken, your asking to only show the corner handles on these objects?... I mean it just seems relatively like a lot of work for something you could just not use...

Rob, all I am trying to do is get over a realisation that a number of the recent changes greatly impact the User Interface and well-worn workflows. If you are always trying to second guess what is smart or not and which mode you are in then the changes are problematic.
Currently, when I soft-group a box and two lines, I retain all the control points.
Change a line to a Smart Labeled Line and controls vanish.
This doesn't happen if I just group in either of the above cases.
I simply included the A4 Ratio Template as a counter-example, where the central controls ought not to be there as it destroys the purpose of the template: to maintain a ratio.
