Work in Progress
Georgetroy mentioned the book 'Corel Draw Studio Techniques' by Gary Priester and David Huss. Great Book.
A few years ago I followed Gary's instructions, but using Xara X instead of Corel Draw 7 or 8.
Today I pulled my copy of the book from the bookcase and started the Wine Glass tutorial using Corel Draw X3.
The attached image is my results after a couple of hours. I'm not familiar with the tools in Corel Draw. Also being from the southern portion of the United States I read very slowly. :D

Re: Work in Progress
Very good, it does take awhile to do the wine glass, mine did not turn out as well as yours. My patience gets kinda of thin, the older I get. I think Gary did another version of the glass in one of the XaraXone, not sure how far back.

Re: Work in Progress
Thanks George. I do seem to recall that Gary did a Xara version of the tutorial but cannot find it at this time.

Re: Work in Progress
looks like your getting the shading thing sorted...
Although this is the reason i'm toying with xara...
Their ability to do gradated transparent shading ETC is reason enough for me to jump ship...
and probably why you will (from a xara background) not be able to stomach corel.
When doing any photo realistic work like allot of artists like to aspire to... this makes a world of difference.
As matching up gradations was a big part of my work in corel.
In xara this problem is eliminated
