Transparency on Stretched Background
Not much explanation needed: transparent .png on a stretched background produces a square of the unstretched background around the .png. It's the Alpha channel thing, but what do you do to work around it?
I searched the forum for this as I presume it's been asked before. Also not sure if it's a graphics question or a web design question.
Yes, I still need to clean up around the chunks of soy/meat

Ah yes, encountered this many times.
You actually need to tell Xara that this png you uploaded is to be used as a png.
Sounds silly but that's how it is.
Select your image, go to web properties -> image and choose png.
Default sets it to Let Xara choose....and they always choose jpg.

Spitsoor, do you know how many times I've done workarounds for this?..and you knew the answer all along.
Learning. Always learning. Dank je.

Graag gedaan!
Honesty prompts me to tell you that I found the answer on here some time ago. Don't know what thread anymore, but the credits go to this forum!
Re: Transparency on Stretched Background
That will apply to a lot of answers. I did search before asking, but after following the Google rule of 'if it's not on the first page, it's invisible', I asked.

Re: Transparency on Stretched Background
Even with PNG's applied to images and stretches with transparencies, I can still break it.
Have a look at https://gradientlab.space/ instead. Simple example for the red block: Attachment 123148
