PDF printing problem with Oswald font (PGD 15.1, Win10)
When exporting as a 'High Quality' PDF the text in the Google font Oswald SemiBold has some extra extraneous lines and blobs showing on some letters.
I've PDF'd same text and font from Affinity Designer and Inkscape with no problems.

File a support ticket. That is not right.
Re: PDF printing problem with Oswald font (PGD 15.1, Win10)
Thanks Gary, that's what I thought!
I did try the PDF export option 'Convert text into shapes' which worked ok, but the document I want to export will be quite text heavy and better as text.
The other thing I tried was to convert just the Oswald font text to editable shapes before exporting, and that also works ok, but again not what I really want to do.
Re: PDF printing problem with Oswald font (PGD 15.1, Win10)
Some Google fonts are better than others. Google apparently does not care about quality that much. But converting problem fonts to editable shapes is always a workaround. But keep the original file in case you need to edit the text.
Re: PDF printing problem with Oswald font (PGD 15.1, Win10)
I also was thinking it's a quality issue and the font was probably designed mainly for on screen viewing. Nevertheless other apps do manage to PDF it ok.
Ive raised a Magix support ticket and will report back.

Hi,
hakoo is right, there are plenty versions of Oswald-font.
I own the original font from The Oswald Projects designed by Vernom Adams.

Thanks haakoo. I deleted the old Oswald fonts and installed the FontSquirrel ones. And thanks ernie-f for the test .xar file, which PDF'd perfectly with the new versions. Great, I'm back in business! :D
Re: PDF printing problem with Oswald font (PGD 15.1, Win10)
I am having similar problems with Google fonts: Crimson Text and Nunito. When I publish, at whatever setting, there are green lines around the headlines, and the text is really blurry. I am in such trouble over this deadline that I thought I would remake a few pages in XDP11, which was the last one I had before 15. Same problem. I am cringing having to send this to the client, and terrified if he gives it to a printer. Am going to try different fonts tomorrow, but so far the same problem - but admittedly only tried other Google fonts. Have to say that if Google fonts no longer work with Xara that is a terrible state of affairs.
Also have noticed the prob re hyphenation in XDP15. It is putting small black blocks instead of hyphens. One line of text is wavy - I couldn't have achieved deliberately that if I'd tried!
Time for bed. Despondent. The Google fonts work fine in the Serif, but I don;t know the program. However, the reality may be I have to at least import the Xara files and fix it in there. Panicking...

Hi Artyboots, easy to say, but take a deep breath and try not to panic, you can do it! :D
It's obviously a Xara problem, but what worked for me was uninstalling the Google versions and downloading and installing the Font Squirrel versions.
Luckily both of your fonts are available:
