Gee, it's awfully quiet in the New Gear Forum . . .
Here's a preview of an app I'll be reviewing in my next column at www.graphics.com (in addition to Poser 5). It's a superb Photoshop plugin for creating high-quality bevelled art from vector paths: PathStyler from www.shinycore.com. Take a look at these quickie samples - you can't do this with the ol' Layer Styles, nor with Xara3D!

Hi Klaus... Ok , when you say quick samples we are looking at but simply adjusting a couple of sliders, making a couple of bevel and texture choices, perhaps some lighting choices and voila?
Quickly ready for further tweaking inside PhotoShop and or other fav product http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif ?
If so hey, right on... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Well, gidgit - it's more or less just some simple adjustments - but a little judicious application of brains and taste doesn't hurt. ;-)
This plugin ONLY works inside Photoshop, because it uses PS's vector path technology as its starting point. Other PS-plugin "compatible" apps don't have this neat technology.

Sounds very interesting for me as a heavy Photoshop user. I'm looking forward to read your article Klaus http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

but I was wondering if you could tell us what happened to Dave Huss's column. Although I'm a member over there as well, I can't see any contact details to post the question directly. And his columns were interesting, is he OK?

Jon, I too like Dave Huss' columns. My impression is that he's just very busy, but I could ask Chris Dickman.
