How to Rip Open an Object
Let's say that we made a sphere inside a sphere...
Attachment 84217
And now, we want to rip open that outside sphere in order to see (part of) the sphere underneath.
What tool would we use?
Why...the RIP TOOL of course.
Go into Edit mode and select the vertices or edges where you want the rip to happen, press "v", and then use your mouse to indicate which direction to rip. Use the mouse to align/position the rip the way you want. Done.

Here's the same object, but with another rip and some dog-eared corners...

And ripped open enough to get the "nut" out...

Re: How to Rip Open an Object
That's cool! That would make a fun animation with the rip getting bigger and bigger and then the smaller sphere rolling out.

Good one James, I agree with Frances about that making a cool animation also. I'd love to see that. I know it would be short but it would be cool to see.
