Burning Out in Drag
On to a new challenge, for a modified dragster, not quite a rail, more than a funny car, called "The Rat Trap". Designed as the first of four post so as not to lose the enthusiasm, you'll see the finish before week's end. The cartoon in front is from the original photograph.

Re: Burning Out in Drag
Only four days? Good grief! You like to put the pressure on don't you?
I began with the power source:

Re: Burning Out in Drag
You're done with the hardest part, what are you complaining about! Who's putting the pressure on whom? (Raymond isn't highjacking the thread, we are both drawing the same thing each from our own point of view.)

Re: Burning Out in Drag
I can foresee some more wonderful stuff coming out in this thread, well done so far, to both of you.

Re: Burning Out in Drag
Delighted to see the models although I must I was a bit worried when I read the title of the thread.

Re: Burning Out in Drag
The title does bear a resemblance to what is depicted. The problem is how the viewer interprets it, James.
Well, Raymond, you make it tough, my fingers almost bled to get this drawing done.
>cough< You are driving me to smoke, that is my engine is. Better add some rear wheels right soon as it will be murder on the power plant. Got to jack up the rear end and add the rest of the body and assorted parts. I guess if I sleep the latter half of the week that will make up for it.

Re: Burning Out in Drag
Nice Sally, The Rat Fink logo is great. the artist of that logo is a good friend of my brothers in-laws.

Re: Burning Out in Drag
Thanks, Danny, the drawing is based on a photo of "The Rat Trap" modified dragster/rail taken in 1971. It appeared recently in "The Rodder's Journal" available at Barnes and Noble. So this is an actual vehicle. In my next installment you'll see the custom painting. You'll like what appears on the side panel.
